OKLAHOMA CITY - Timberwolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell said he believed he saw progress – if not a single victory – in contested losses to Dallas, Oklahoma City and Houston this past week.
Then there was Friday’s rematch with the Thunder, a resounding 113-93 defeat at Oklahoma City in a game nationally televised by ESPN.
On Tuesday at Target Center, the Wolves pushed the Thunder to the final minutes in a 101-96 loss that left Mitchell reasonably satisfied with what he called his team’s improved pick-and-roll defense against All-Star guard Russell Westbrook.
