For the past seven days, the women’s five-on-five basketball group stage had been taking place. The United States women’s basketball team has been the most dominant force in organized sports and entered the 2024 Paris Olympics as the heavy favorites once again. In fact, they’ve brought home gold nine of the last 10 Olympics, including seven in a row dating back to the 1996 games in Atlanta.
The Minnesota Lynx had three representatives for three separate countries: Napheesa Collier for the United States in Group C; Alanna Smith for Australia and Bridget Carleton for Canada, both positioned in group B.
