NEW YORK – Just as Timberwolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell promised the night before, change came to his team Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
But it wasn’t all by his own doing and it wasn’t not nearly enough to prevent a 107-102 defeat, the Wolves’ eighth loss in their past nine games.
The Wolves trailed by as many as 22 points Wednesday, but getting within as few as three points in the game’s final 12 seconds before the Knicks held on.
Mitchell vowed lineup adjustments after Tuesday’s 12-point home loss to Denver, which he called the most “disappointing” of the season.
