When the Minnesota Timberwolves committed their two Two-Way contracts to rookie shooting guard Jaylen Clark and to returning center Luka Garza, that should have been the end of the line for the Timberwolves’ Two-Way contracts. Since their inception in the 2017-18 NBA season, Two-Way contracts have afforded the NBA and NBPA a logical and meaningful solution to the challenge of competing in 82 regular season games, and doing so with just 15 NBA players on a team’s roster.
While the pair of Two-Way players who toggle between G-League and NBA competition was a minor change, the alteration has proven to be hugely successful.
