After the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ gray City edition jerseys from a year ago were left off the schedule for the upcoming season and a yet-to-be announced jersey was confirmed, it was fair to wonder if it would be the end of the gray unis and the introduction of a new design entirely.
An apparent leak has confirmed that theory, with new purple jerseys seemingly paying homage to the late pop legend Prince and his hometown of Minneapolis.
Prince, whose album Purple Rain sold over 20 million copies worldwide and went platinum 13 times in the US, was born and raised in Minneapolis.
