At the end of the first half, the Minnesota Timberwolves found themselves in a tightly contested battle against the Golden State Warriors. However, that quickly changed as the Warriors went bonkers in the third quarter and took a double-digit lead into the final quarter.
Minnesota didn’t appear ready for Golden State’s doubling defense, which caused them confusion on the offensive end of the floor.
It was a smart ploy by Steve Kerr, as he took away what Minnesota did best and that’s working down low. Whether it be through Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler or even Shabazz Muhammad the Warriors consistently sent a double team as soon as they were in post-up position.
