Minnesota Timberwolves Acquire NBA All-Star D’Angelo Russell, Jacob Evans and Omari Spellman from Golden State

Minneapolis-St. Paul – Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas announced the team has acquired guard D’Angelo Russell, guard/forward Jacob Evans and forward Omari Spellman from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota’s 2021 protected first-round pick and the Timberwolves’ 2021 second-round pick.

Russell, 23, has appeared in 305 regular season games (257 starts) in five NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and Golden State, averaging 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists. The 6-4 guard played in 33 games with the Golden State Warriors this season, averaging a career-high 23.
