Last year, Robert Covington played just 22 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves after being traded to the team in November.
Minnesota had a record of 12-10 during that stretch, playing some of their best defense of the season. Unfortunately, Covington suffered a knee injury that caused him to miss the second half of the season, including every game coached by the newly appointed Ryan Saunders.
The Timberwolves are hopeful that a healthy Covington can be the answer to the team’s woeful lack of defense and 3-point shooting. In his small sample size of 22 games, Covington shot 37.
