Second-round draft pick Keita Bates-Diop scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves in a 103-92 victory over Toronto on Sunday in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Bates-Diop, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, also had two assists, two blocks and a steal. He shot 6-for-14 from the field, 3-for-6 on three-pointers and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. This came after he went only 3-for-10 from the field Friday in his first Summer League game.
“I definitely felt more comfortable than the first game,” Bates-Diop said to NBA.com. “Kind of got the jitters out, so I felt good this game.
