On Monday, the league announced that Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore was named the Western Conference Player of the Week, reflecting games played during the week of July 6 - July 12. Chicago's Cappie Pondexter won the award for the Eastern Conference.
Moore had quite the week, averaging 24.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. According to the Gwinnet Daily Post, she also came in No. 3 (tied with other players) for assists (4.5), No. 5 in blocks (1.5) and No. 6 in field goal percentage (.487).
Despite a game-high 29-point performance from Moore on July 10, the Lynx fell 90-83 to Chicago before rebounding and grabbing a win over San Antonio on July 12.
