Veteran center Janel McCarville has been re-signed by the Minnesota Lynx today, the team announced. McCarville, who played two seasons with the Lynx (and helped them to a championship) chose to sit out last year's WNBA season, but is making her return to the Lynx.
She spent the Winter playing in the Turkish League, and is prepared to make her return to Minnesota, likely in a back up role. The Lynx acquired Sylvia Fowles last season to take over the center position, and still have Rebekkah Brunson at the power forward spot. The signing of McCarville gives the Lynx more veteran depth up front, and will hopefully allow them to bring one of their younger players along slowly.
