The Minnesota Lynx looked to get back on track at Target Center as they hosted an ION Friday Night clash against a struggling Phoenix Mercury squad that had lost its last three games by a combined 41 points.
The Lynx got off to a cold start, shooting just 3/9 from the floor (0/5 from 3) in the opening four minutes, but they made up for it with great offensive rebounding and stout defense on the other end of the floor, holding the Mercury to only five points on six shots themselves. Phoenix, already down Brittney Griner (toe) and Bec Allen (concussion protocol), lost Sophie Cunningham to foul trouble after the 3-and-D wing picked up her second foul at the 7:28 mark of the first.
