Due to the success in Commissioner Cup contests to begin the season, the red-hot Minnesota Lynx represented the Western Conference in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on Tuesday, with a $500,000 prize pool awarded to the winning team on the line.
Minnesota faced off against the Eastern Conference team that finished with the best record in Cup games, the New York Liberty, at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, a relocated site from Barclays Center in Brooklyn due to Wednesday’s NBA Draft.
In the battle for the Cup and the prize pool, the showdown between two of the top teams in the WNBA resulted in the Lynx coming out on top 94-89 to be crowned 2024 Commissioner’s Cup Champions.
