The Minnesota Lynx entered Tuesday evening’s late tip atop the Western Conference standings with an 8-3 record. Two of those losses were of the heartbreaking buzzer-beating variety. The only other loss was against the Las Vegas Aces just two weeks earlier, where the defending champions held just a six-point lead heading into the final quarter. Unfortunately, an 8-2 Aces run with A’ja Wilson on the bench ripped open a double-digit deficit which the Lynx were unable to rally back from at home.
Since that victory, Las Vegas has dropped three of their last four games, all Commissioner’s Cup games.
