Thanks to two free throws with five seconds left from Sergio Rodriguez, Spain defeated Australia 89-88 on Sunday morning to clinch the Bronze Medal in the 2016 Olympics.
Spurs forward Pau Gasol led the way for Spain, finishing with a team-high 31 points and 11 rebounds. Another Spurs player, Patty Mills, led Australia with with 30 points.
Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio played 16 minutes for Spain and finished with three points, four assists and three rebounds. Through eight games in the Olympics in Rio, Rubio averaged 5.0 points, 2.9 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
