With both teams doing more losing than winning, perhaps the most exciting thing to look for in the Timberwolves game with the New York Knicks Saturday at Target Center was a look at the Rookie of the Year race.
Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns vs. New York’s Kristaps Porzingis. Two big men with surprising skill. Towns is second among rookies in scoring, first in rebounding, second in blocks. Porzingis is third, second and first, respectively.
But it turns out the storyline was a little more old school in New York’s one-sided, lead-from-the start 103-95 victory over the Wolves.
