The Cinderella story continued on Sunday for the No. 24 seed Minnesota Timberwolves as they took down the No. 5 seed Phoenix Suns, 93-83.
The game was all about former Final Four Most Outstanding player Tyus Jones. Actually, the entire Summer League has been about Jones. Jones finished with a game-high 29 points to lead the Wolves. Eleven of those points came after Jones left with a left wrist injury. Jones returned at halftime with tape on his wrist, but didn’t miss a beat.
Through seven tournament games, Jones is averaging 19.4 points per game and he’s eclipsed 20 in each of the last three games.
