When Gersson Rosas was appointed as the Timberwolves’ new president of basketball operations, there were plenty of tasks on his to-do list. After all, he was now overseeing a franchise who had been invited to the postseason party just once in the last decade and a half.
He needed to show his star man Karl-Anthony Towns he was serious by swinging for a big free agency fish. When he couldn’t land that prize player, he had to go out and sign conservative but potential-laden deals. He needed to try and move some of the dead-weight contracts off the salary cap books.
