Welcome to 2025. Coming off a New Year’s Eve loss to the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, the Minnesota Timberwolves faced another tough matchup as they took on the defending champion Boston Celtics in their first game of the new year.
The Celtics were without two starters Kristaps Porziu0146u0123is (ankle) and Jaylen Brown (shoulder) making the Celtics, while still an outstanding team, a bit more beatable. The only Wolves players on the injury list were Luka Garza and Rob Dillingham, both out with ankle injuries.
3-point shooting was the story early in the game with each team taking as many shots from beyond the arc as they could.
