In many ways, Jeff Teague has been marked for failure since signing what’s essentially a three-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer.
He was brought in as a supposed upgrade over the enigmatic Ricky Rubio and immediately found a dark spot in the hearts of most Wolves’ fans. No matter what he would ever do, it wouldn’t be good enough for some.
Teague knew as well as anyone he would be hard-pressed to replace the love Rubio had earned in some fans’ hearts. He even said so himself:
