Last year was a landmark NBA draft for Asian-Americans. With the number two overall pick, the Houston Rockets selected Jalen Green. Though I had no personal attachment to Green, I still felt a sense of pride. Why? The fellow Californian represented the highest draft pick for a player who identified as Asian since Yao Ming in the 2002 draft.
