The Minnesota Timberwolves are being careful to not rush to judgment when it comes to injured guard Ricky Rubio and the timetable for his return.
"When he gets off his crutches, we will be able to evaluate," head coach Flip Saunders said of Rubio who was on crutches and in a walking boot at Monday's practice, via Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press. "I believe he is making pretty good progress from what everyone tells me."
Rubio rolled his ankle in the Timberwolves' 112-103 overtime loss to the Orlando Magic on November 7th. He was sidelined for the last four games of the road trip and is currently listed as out indefinitely.
Prior to injury, Rubio averaged 9.4 points and 10 assists per game in helping lead the Timberwolves to a 2-2 record to start the year. Including the game he was injured, the Timberwolves are 0-5 since he went down.
