Playing without a top forward and a top defenseman might cripple most teams.
Not the Gophers.
Forward Hannah Brandt was out of the lineup this weekend, nursing an injury, and defenseman Milica McMillen sat Sunday because of a coach's decision, but the Gophers had no trouble mustering up enough production in their absence, beating Ohio State 9-0 at Ridder Arena.
The Gophers got on the board less than a minute into the game when sophomore Kelly Pannek jammed a puck into the next. Pannek followed up that up with her second goal just minutes later.
Sophomore Kate Schipper and senior Lee Stecklein also scored two goals apiece as the Gophers swept Ohio State in a two-game series.
