Women's hockey: Complexion of border battle shifting

Minnesota's rivalry with Wisconsin is starting to become more about the border to the north than the one to the east.

The No. 3 Gophers will travel to Madison this weekend to play the undefeated, top-ranked Badgers, whose roster resembles the Great White North more than it does the Midwest.

Wisconsin has eight Canadian players this season, and only five from Wisconsin and Minnesota combined.

"They've always been fairly Canadian-heavy," Minnesota head coach Brad Frost said. "We've obviously got so many tremendous players in Minnesota that we're able to keep a lot of them home but still be able to sprinkle in some Canadians or some out-of-state kids.
