By attending Gophers football practice Saturday, interim athletics director Beth Goetz wanted to quickly return attention to sports and move on from Friday's sudden resignation of her former boss Norwood Teague.
"The priority (Saturday) and every day is about our student-athletes, our coaches and our teams, so that's what our role is and always has been," she said. "That's where we want to keep the focus."
Goetz was given the interim athletics director title Friday after Teague admitted to sending inappropriate text messages and touching two female University of Minnesota employees.
"I was disappointed we weren't here (Friday)," Goetz said from the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex.
