UMN athletics cleared of most sexual 'climate' issues

An independent, external review of Minnesota's athletics department found no evidence of a "climate of sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual conduct," and that there was no way for the school to have known former athletics director Norwood Teague would sexually harass two of his peers during a senior retreat.

The report, conducted by Minneapolis-based attorneys Karen Schanfield and Joseph Dixon, found some instances of sexual harassment by concluded they were "limited in number and the episodes were, by and large, effectively addressed as they occurred."

The external review was commissioned in the wake of sexual harassment scandal that resulted in the resignation of Teague on Aug.
