University of Minnesota athletic director Norwood Teague is expected to announce his resignation Friday, sources say.
Teague was named the Gophers athletics director in April 2012, replacing Joel Maturi.
Teague, 48, came to Minnesota after six years at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before VCU, Teague, a Raleigh, N.C. native, was associate athletic director for five years at the University of North Carolina, his alma mater.
Teague came to Minnesota after the hiring of football head coach Jerry Kill, but he was responsible for the hiring of men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino and women's basketball head coach Marlene Stollings.
