I'm not sure of the details, but there was an uncommon player transaction this weekend with defenseman Will Cullen. Last week, it was reported that Cullen was stepping away from Miami for personal reasons. This weekend, he signed a pro deal with the Bridgeport Islanders (AHL) and left the team for good, which Miami head coach Chris Bergeron seemed to predict last week.
“Obviously, (coaches) Barry (Schutte), myself, Jimmy Spratt knew that boy, and it hasn’t worked out,” Bergeron said. “And not only has it not worked out for Will, he hasn’t played the type of hockey that we know he’s capable of playing.
