Junior shortstop Terrin Vavra was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 3rd round of the MLB amateur draft. Vavra has had an amazing year at the plate, hitting an eye-popping .393 with 10 HR and 59 RBI, while maintaining a .691 slugging percentage.
Vavra has racked up the accolades in his junior season, becoming the first Gopher baseball player in nine years to earn All-America honors. He was named a first team All-American by Baseball America. He was also named a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, which is given to the nation’s top shortstop.
