The University of Minnesota has hired Minneapolis-based attorney Karen Schanfield to investigate what the school calls "key issues" involving the resignation of former Gophers athletics director Norwood Teague.
The school announced Friday that Schanfield, of the law firm Fredrikson & Byron P.A., has been retained by the U's general counsel on behalf of the Board of Regents. Schanfield's specialty is advising and representing employers on workplace matters, such as harassment, discrimination, noncompete agreements and retaliation.
Teague resigned Aug. 7, terminating a three-week investigation into his behavior involving two top university administrators, which included groping and lewd text messages.
