Eric Schierhorn recorded 31 saves on Friday, pacing Minnesota to a decisive win over rival Minnesota State.
At Mankato, Eric Schierhorn posted his second career shutout between the pipes, as Minnesota topped host Minnesota State, 4-0, in men's hockey action on Friday night.
Four separate Gophers scored on the night, to go along with Schierhorn's 31 saves, as the Gophers got back to .500, at 4-4-0 overall. All told, Justin Kloos, Taylor Cammarata, Vinni Lettieri and Leon Bristedt scored for Minnesota.
Also of note, the Gophers weathered five power-play opportunities on the evening.
The in-state rivals had a fairly even first period, before Kloos found the back of the net with his second tally of the year, at 18:33 of the opening stanza.
