Norwood Teague came to town in 2012 saying he sensed a "burning desire" from Gophers fans for improvements in the University of Minnesota's athletics department.
Three years later, he was run out of town after describing his own burning desires in text messages to female colleagues.
The former Gophers athletics director, who resigned in disgrace this summer, narrowly edged out Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump to earn the hallowed Loop Man of the Year honor, awarded annually to the most unforgettable newsmaker of the year.
"Norwood Teague reminds us of our true selves," President Barack Obama said during a faux ceremony at the White House last night.
