I’ve never been a big recruiting guy. That’s not to say I don’t believe in it, I’ve just never been interested in projecting what sort of player a 17-year old kid is going to develop into by the time he’s 21 or 22 and what sort of impact he’ll make for a certain team. I get it. I understand the importance of recruiting and see the hard evidence associated with the results when programs get it right.
That said, I think player development is often overlooked, especially at the collegiate level.
