After losing their first two matches of the season last weekend, Minnesota (5-2) will look to get back on a win streak before conference play starts.
After rising to No. 1 the Gophers went out to Palo Alto and suffered two four-set losses to then No. 18 Oregon and No. 4 Stanford. Minnesota was outgunned by the two powerful offenses and had trouble closing out sets.
Against Oregon, every set was the minimum two point margin, 23-25, 23-25, 27-25, 23-25; all in all there were 26 tie scores and 11 lead changes.
Oregon was able to close set one with a kill and a Gopher hitting error and in set two they took the lead and set with three straight kills after being down 22-19.
