Minnesota interim head coach Tracy Claeys could take job full-time

United States

According to a report by Fox Sports, Minnesota Golden Gophers interim coach Tracy Claeys is gaining support from Minnesota’s brass for taking the head coaching job permanently. Claeys took over after longtime coach Jerry Kill was forced to abruptly retire last week due to health concerns.

Many at Minnesota see Claeys as an extension of Kill, and it hasn’t hurt that Kill has publicly advocated for his former defensive coordinator to take the job full-time.

At 4-4, the Gophers face a tough stretch ahead, with road games at no.3 Ohio State and no.
