Minnesota Hopes BC Win is Sign of Things to Come

Standing behind the bench at Conte Forum in Boston on Sunday afternoon, Don Lucia experienced a flashback. His team led Boston College, 3-2, deep into the third period, and the Eagles were swarming.

Minnesota took its lead midway through the third period when Vinni Lettieri scored on a breakaway. From there on, it was all BC. Teams take more shots, force more pressure when they're trailing an opponent and battling the clock. For Minnesota, these situations haven't yielded the best results in 2016-17.

Friday night, the Gophers led Northeastern, 4-2, in the third period before allowing four goals and falling to the Huskies, 6-4.
