The Gopher Hockey Team will go for the sweep of the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison this evening. Minnesota will look to stay atop the Big Ten standings in sole possession of first place.
The Gophers took Friday night’s opener 4-3 in overtime. The Gophers got off to a quick 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Leon Bristedt and Mike Szmatula. The Badgers would quickly answer in the second as Minnesota Wild First Round Draft Pick Luke Kunin put a wrister past Eric Schierhorn just 53 seconds into the second period, and Matt Ustaski would tie the game with just under three minutes left in the second period.
