Minnesota Golden Gophers punter Mark Crawford has been named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in the team’s 20-13 win over the Purdue Boilermakers.
Crawford averaged 51.3 yards on six punts against the boilermakers, including a pair of career-long 60-yard punts. He pinned the Boilermakers inside their own 15-yard line four times and was instrumental in helping the Gophers win the field position battle.
He is the first Minnesota punter to be named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week since Peter Mortell earned the same honor on Nov. 11, 2013.
