Gophers head football coach P.J. Fleck is expected to name Marcus West the new defensive ends coach. West spent the last two seasons as assistant head coach, co-defensive coordinator, and defensive line coach at Austin Peay.
West would replace previous defensive ends coach Bryce Paup, who is reportedly headed to the NFL, according to 247 Sports’ Kyle Goblirsch.
Paup would be the third assistant coach to depart Minnesota this offseason, joining defensive backs coach Mo Linguist (Texas A&M) and offensive line coach Ed Warinner (Michigan).
West, a former All-Conference USA defensive lineman at Memphis, has been coaching at the college level since 2008.
