Well this was unexpected. The Minnesota Vikings announced Sunday morning that they had waived linebacker Darnell Sankey and signed former Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner to a contract.
Leidner obviously is in town and is participating in practice and meetings today.

It is assumed that Leidner was signed to play quarterback, and he would be the fifth qb currently on the Vikings 90-man roster after Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, Taylor Heincke, and Teddy Bridgewater.
