Minnesota defeats Boston College 85-80

Minnesota defeated Boston College in overtime 85-80 at Williams Arena. With the win, the Gophers are now 5-0 on the season. Marcus Carr led all scorers with 22 points.

I have always said that a successful non conference game occurs when Minnesota wins and no one gets injured. Based on that result, this game was a failure as Brandon Johnson sustained an injury in overtime.

Minnesota should not have gone to overtime against Boston College. The Gophers managed a paltry 48.4% effective field goal percentage. As a team they were just 6-25 from distance. Take out Isaiah Ihnen and Both Gach, and the rest of the team made just two three point shots.
