MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota's seven-game win streak was halted Saturday against Wisconsin, but the Gophers' resurgence is still going strong. And one player leading that charge is Vinni Lettieri.
One week prior, the senior Lettieri recorded his first career hat trick, and reached a new career high in goals with 11, earning him the Big Ten’s 2nd star of the week (for the second time in two months). And though Lettieri was held off the scoresheet against Wisconsin, he was active, with 14 shots on goal.
After a nine-goal sophomore season, Lettieri dropped to seven last season along with a minus-4, the only time his plus-minus was underwater in his career.
