Jerry Kill has been seizure-free for over a year

Minnesota Golden Gophers head football coach Jerry Kill has struggled with seizures in the past due to his epilepsy, but that no longer seems to be the case. Speaking at Day 2 of Big Ten media days earlier this morning, Kill said he was “doing great” and hadn’t had a seizure for over a year and a half. Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk reported Kill’s update on his condition.

If that is indeed the case, it’s great news for Kill at Minnesota’s football program. The Gophers have done nothing but improve since Kill took over the program in 2011, but he suffered seizures on the field in 2012, 2013, and spent the second half of the latter season coaching from the press box so that he could focus on his treatment and how to manage his condition best.
