Minnesota Golden Gophers head football coach Jerry Kill has received a one-year contract extension from the university. The university made the announcement, which was reported by Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new contract will keep Kill, 53, in Minneapolis through at least 2019. It’s been a roller coaster of a tenure for him since he joined the Gophers, as he suffers from epilepsy and dealt with seizures early on.
Fortunately, the new medication he is on seems to be working and he claims to have been seizure free for over a year.
