Minnesota showed how valuable their returning chemistry will be as they ran past the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears for a 106-58 exhibition win. Jordan Murphy had 22 points and 11 rebounds, while guard Nate Mason added 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting. Minnesota had four players in double figures and their backcourt shined throughout the night.
The Gophers opened the game on a quick 24-7 run, drilling eight of their nine shot attempts. Guard Nate Mason was very comfortable with his shot, drilling a corner jumper and drawing contact for a three-point play. He was playing very confidently, finishing strong at the rim and drilling mid-range jumpers off ball rotations.
