For the second time in the last three weeks a Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey player has been named the Big Ten’s #1 Star of the Week. two weeks ago it was goalie Mat Robson taking home the honors. This week it is senior captain Tyler Sheehy who was rewarded for his performance against the Wisconsin Badgers last weekend. Sheehy led the nation in scoring last weekend recording seven points in the Gophers split with the Badgers at Mariucci Arena.
Sheehy had a goal and six assists for Minnesota against Wisconsin. He scored his goal and recorded three assists in Minnesota’s 9-4 win on Friday and then added a pair of assists in the Gophers 4-3 loss on Saturday.
