Time and time again, the Gopher offense handed the ball back over to the Horned Frog offense. Aside from a tough stretch in the first quarter, the Gopher defense was able to answer the call. Their goal line stand near the end of the first half was especially impressive.
Turnovers continued to plague the Gophers on offense, with a Mitch Leidner fumble setting up a Trevone Boykin touchdown pass to Josh Doctson a few plays later in the first quarter and a demoralizing Rodrick Williams fumble into the end zone in the second quarter killing their best offensive drive of the night.
