Gophers women's hockey: Schipper, Brandt goals fuel 7-0 win over St. Cloud State

The Gophers turned in another dominant performance in a rink where so many of the program's great players came from.

In front of a packed Roseville Skating Center crowd Friday night, most of it cheering loudly for Minnesota, the Gophers defeated St. Cloud State 7-0 in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game.

The teams used the game to pay tribute to the former Raiders in their programs, with Roseville natives Lee Stecklein and Hanna Brodt each receiving applause from the crowd when they were announced as starters for Minnesota and St. Cloud State, respectively.

The two also took part in a ceremonial puck drop to honor former Gophers and Raiders standouts Winny (Brodt) Brown, Ronda (Curtin) Engelhardt, Chelsey Brodt-Rosenthal, Bethany Brausen and Kate Flug.
