Carlie Wagner set career highs for points, rebounds and three-pointers Sunday as the Gophers women notched their first Big Ten victory of the season with a 98-85 win over Penn State at Williams Arena.
Wagner had 11 field goals and six three-pointers among her 32 points for Minnesota 9-4, 1-1 Big Ten), which led from start to finish.
"I actually had a crappy warm-up," Wagner said. "I wasn't hitting too many threes. But the game started and I hit my first one. I think it gave me confidence so I just kept shooting."
Jessie Edwards also set a career high with 22 points off the bench for the Gophers in addition to grabbing eight rebounds, tied with Rachel Banham for the team lead.
