For Carlie Wagner, it felt awkward to be intimidated as a University of Minnesota freshman last season.
After all, the 5-foot-10 guard finished her high school career as the second-leading scorer in state history. She was Minnesota's Miss Basketball after averaging 37 points as a senior.
Still, when Wagner was asked to replace injured star Rachel Banham last December, the New Richland native wasn't initially comfortable with such a prominent role so soon.
"I had some big shoes to fill -- I mean, like huge shoes," Wagner said. "I was for sure intimidated some nights.
